Ronald McDonald House Charities Southwestern Ontario

Imagine for a moment that you have a child who has been diagnosed with a life threatening illness or incurable disease. Your life is in turmoil as you try to understand how to cope. What do you do? Where do you go to get help and who do you turn to for support? Ronald McDonald House is the place for not only hope but comfort at this difficult time. For people who are living out of London this house provides a loving staff who are there to assist in every imaginable way so you can be close to your child.

Our house gives them shelter, a temporary home, a refuge within walking distance to the hospital to be with their child. They are able to focus on this stressful situation and not worry about meals, how they will manage visits, the costs and care of other members of their family.

As a volunteer at the house for seven years I know how important it is to have support. I am a cancer survivor and being a volunteer allows me to give back to others. At a time when you think your life is changing, your positive attitude and support gives you hope and the strength to go on. Volunteering gives back what you give to others. You give a part of your heart and get such a rewarding gift in return.

This is the house
Where families meet
To continue their lives
To eat and sleep
To find their strengths
And dry their tears
To look forward with hope
To better years
This is the house
That becomes their house
This is the house
That LOVE built.
