Ronald McDonald House took my family in as a whole, no questions asked. Our 3rd son was born as a micro preemie (25 weeks gestation) weighing 800grams. Myself and my husband lived at Ronald McDonald House for almost 2 months. Each night we would be fed a home cooked meal, our room was our "house" it gave us somewhere to come to and feel safe. It was our constant when nothing else was. Each morning we would be greeted in the kitchen by staff, volunteers, and other guests. We ate our breakfast together then gathered our things and spent the day with our son. Each weekend our older 2 kids would come and spend the weekends with us. They loved coming and even met friends. For those couple days we were able to feel like a family and enjoy each other in comfort rather than being in a hotel. We spent our first Easter in Ronald McDonald House and were blown away when we woke up and the Easter bunny came, the kids were left with presents and activities. Ronald McDonald House goes above and beyond for families, making sure they feel welcome and safe. My family is eternally grateful for all they do. Making strangers into family.
