Make-A-Wish Southwestern Ontario

Good afternoon. I started with the Make-A-Wish Foundation the year after they opened their Chapter in London as a volunteer working on the then men’s Rob Ramage Golf tournament. Three years later my granddaughter was diagnosed with Leukemia. I never dreamed that we would be doing a wish for one of my grandchildren but we did.

I have now been involved with Make-A-Wish for over 30 years. I have just stepped down from the Board and my daughter, the mother of my granddaughter we granted a wish to in 2001, has now taken my spot and I am still a volunteer helping out as needed. I volunteered at Victoria Hospital for over 27 yrs. so would visit all the children when I was up with my granddaughter and bring the gifts. I always tell people if they only knew how many children are in the hospital with a cancer they would be floored.

Now when I first started, Wishes were around $4,000.00, but have increased to anywhere of up to $10,000.00 or more now. My choice is MAW Foundation London Chapter.

Thank you for your consideration.
