The rough road began for my daughter in 2010 at the age of 8 months. She had her 1st of 4 open heart surgeries in Toronto. All of these surgeries happened before she was 3 and a half years old. Needless to say, she is strong, brave and my hero!
We got the information from our social worker from Thames Valley Children’s Centre in January of 2013. She suggested that my daughter would be a good candidate for a Wish. I was shocked and didnt want to admit that my daughter is and was THAT sick! We were approved and went on her Wish in April of 2013. It was truly magical, amazing and we felt like royalty. My daughter‘s wanted to see "Mickey's castle and her princesses". That's what we did! The heat was a bit much for her but we took things at a slower pace. I will never forget my daughter’s reaction to Rapunzel, she saw her, bent down and said to her... I've been waiting for you! I hadn’t seen my daughter with a smile that big in a very long time. Even today it brings tears to my eyes! Make A Wish brings joy, happiness and laughter to families going through the worst times. We are truly grateful to Make A Wish!!!! Thank you ♡♡♡
